Mango boxes are carried through cars, trains, streets and homes. They arrive already marked by variety, origin, grade and destination.
How Do You Move a Mango? follows these movements while asking what else travels with the fruit: taste, memory, status, migration and preference.
The mango moves through
infrastructures designed for other
things.
Passenger seat.
Train carriage.
Airport.
Pavement.
Shop floor.
VARIETY becomes PREFERENCE.
Commercial packaging classifies the mango before it reaches the person who eats it: variety, origin, grade, destination.
PREFERENCE introduces another category.
We don't only do this to fruit.
